General information about who can marry at Kirkby Lonsdale Methodist Church is on the Methodist Church in Britain website. Whilst we usually marry people who live in the local area, or who attend Kirkby Lonsdale Methodist Church regularly, it is entirely possible to marry when living elsewhere. Please contact us to discuss first, and then your local Register Office can advise you on the process and necessary documentation. Please note that marriages now operate under the Marriage Schedule System. Your local Register Office can advise you on how this affects the paperwork process for your wedding.
Same-Sex Marriages
The 2021 Methodist Conference made provision for same-sex marriages to take place in Methodist churches. Kirkby Lonsdale Methodist Church is delighted to be able to conduct same-sex marriages on its premises and has received the relevant permissions from the GRO.
We also welcome same-sex couples who have been married or civilly partnered and would like to receive a blessing. Do contact us and we can discuss it with you.
